Description

A rare 80s PRS Custom 24 has arrived!

We have received a used 1989 Custom 24, a model produced in the early 1980s when PRS was founded. The Custom 24 has been the flagship model that has remained at the core of PRS's lineup since its inception in 1985. Its high level of perfection, which has been supported by many studio musicians and top professionals, remains undiminished. This particular instrument features a supreme wood material construction with a beautiful flame maple top and a Honduran mahogany back. The combination of a Honduran mahogany neck and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard delivers a PRS sound that combines a wide range with rich sustain.

This guitar features a Treble: HFS and Bass: Vintage pickup, and the assembly utilizes a 5-way rotary switch, typical of that era. It can cover a wide range of tones, from thick, glossy lead tones to clear, punchy clean/crunch sounds. PRS guitars from the 1980s are becoming increasingly rare these days. This particular instrument is in player's condition and highly practical, making it a great choice not only for collections but also for live performances.

This particular guitar has been replaced, has a slight recess directly under the bridge allowing for more tremolo arm movement than usual, and has scratches, playing wear, discoloration, dents, a chip on the headstock, cracks in the plastic parts, and significant tarnishing and rust on the hardware. It is in player's condition. The frets have about 70% of their height remaining, and there are no issues with playability, including the neck condition, truss rod, and electronics, so it can be enjoyed for many years to come. Please consider it!
