Description
Description
While the Angel largely inherits the standard Drop Top body shape, the deepest point on the 6th string side is around the 19th fret, and the deepest cutaway on the 1st string side is refined to approximately the 24th fret. This model's appeal lies in its easy access to the higher frets, achieved by exquisitely adjusting the outline. Compared to the Drop Top, it retains its sharper, more aggressive look, and is sure to further unlock the player's potential!
It's no exaggeration to say that Tom Anderson truly laid the foundation for modern custom components. He meticulously manages wood, produces pickups in-house, and painstakingly sets up his finished guitars to maximize their performance. His woodworking techniques, the quality of the woods he uses, and his meticulous setup are world-class. The fast response is truly impressive, satisfying anyone who plays.
The Angel is a modern model that newly adopted the 24-fret specification, which had not been produced by Tom until a few years ago. Before the Angel was released, many people had been clamoring for a 24-fret model, and when it was announced in 2014, the cheers of excited fans were audible!
This guitar combines an alder back, which produces a clear tone with a rich midrange, with flame maple, which tightens the overall sound. The Even Taper-shaped maple neck is slim and has a good grip, and the fingerboard is made of high-quality rosewood. The alder body combines with the guitar to create a comfortable, sticky feel and a refined, lustrous midrange. All materials used are woven together through Tom's high-level manufacturing process, resulting in a natural playability that feels right at home, and a solid, consistent tone that supports your playing.
The open-type SF1/H2+ pickups, in an SSH configuration, influence the overall character of the guitar, offering a selection of subtle clean nuances to the drive sound with Tom Anderson's signature clear expressiveness. Easy to use, they'll be a valuable ally for the discerning guitarist involved in delicate recording work. Furthermore, when the front or center pickup is selected, pulling the tone knob also outputs a coil-split mix of the rear pickup, allowing for a total of six tonal patterns to be selected with simple operation. This unit's on/off function is controlled by a mini switch, and a tap function is also available in the rear position. These versatile specifications are a testament to the Tom Anderson brand.
The Angel model's unique 24 frets are easy to reach thanks to the horn shape of the body and the contoured neck joint, and combined with the satin finish of the neck, they provide excellent playability.
This unit weighs approximately 3.56 kg and is well-balanced, offering ease of use that players will appreciate during long live performances or recording sessions.
With a superb flame maple top that combines outstanding presence and elegance, a calming Amber Burst finish, chrome hardware and a matching headstock, the look is modest, but the rich resonance of the wood, unparalleled creativity, and refined finish have earned this guitar many fans in Japan, making it a masterpiece that will carve a new legend for this prestigious West Coast brand!
The Angel is a 24-fret model perfect for technical players.
*As for the condition, there are no dents or other damage to the frets, and more than 80% of the frets remain. There is also ample room for the truss rod.
The electrical system is in good condition, but there is some light buckle wear in the latter half, and there are small dents and scratches overall, and some cloudiness on the metal parts.
*Please refer to the photos for any particularly noticeable scratches.
