Kz Guitar Works' new brand "KGW" has launched!
KGW was born as a new sister brand of K's Guitar Works, a guitar workshop based in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, known only to those in the know for producing high-quality handmade guitars!
Based on the body shape of the flagship Kz One model from Kz Guitar Works, designed by Japanese builder Ijuin, who also built the official signature "Red Special" for Queen guitarist Brian May, this guitar features a bolt-on construction and a new pickup configuration, making it even more accessible. Basic production, such as woodworking, is carried out domestically, while fret rounding, fingerboard edge treatment, and parts assembly are all done in the Zushi workshop, resulting in exceptional quality and excellent value down to the smallest detail.
While the silhouette is instantly recognizable as a Kz, the combination with the pickguard gives it a traditional impression. The body is comfortable to hold with an elbow-cut back contour, and is made of two pieces of alder wood, which is thick and has a resilient sound. The bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard is finished in a "Bolt-On Slim C" shape that provides a smart grip and is suitable for any grip style, achieving excellent picking response and an outstanding tone range.
This "2H6" version features two "Kz Classic" humbucking pickups, a classic style that seems almost fresh for a Kz guitar. Based on a '50s-style vintage pickup, these pickups offer a wide range and excellent picking nuance expression. Their subtle, not-too-thick attack delivers exceptional resolution, even when using the tone control for a wet sound. Even rough strokes produce a three-dimensional sound image, while retaining their definition even in hard lead playing. You'll be able to feel their high potential with the pickups. A mini-switch allows for coil tapping, making this guitar versatile for any situation.
