Description
Description
We have a great deal on a used THC Standard in stock, featuring a deep blue burst finish!
The THC-Standard is a traditional set-neck electric model. While the brand name might draw your attention to the pickups, the pickups are essentially microphones, and their voice is ultimately the product of the wood and manufacturing process. This guitar features a beautiful archtop body with a deep, lustrous top lacquer finish. The carefully selected hard rock maple top, combined with the solid mahogany back, produces a powerful yet sharp attack, long, rich sustain, and classic rock guitar tone.
The neck features a deep, one-piece mahogany joint (long tenon) with a rosewood fingerboard, providing a tight, stable tone and warmth. The nut is made of oiled cowhide, contributing to smooth tuning and a powerful tone. The smooth, rounded shape with a reduced thickness enhances playability, and you'll feel the high-quality feel in your hand.
The hardware is also made with trusted Gotoh parts. The bridge features a lightweight aluminum tailpiece, a must-have for vintage enthusiasts, contributing to the natural resonance. All electrical components are made in the USA, ensuring not only sound but also durability. Sprague Orange Drop capacitors are used, ensuring a flawless, high-quality finish.
The condition of this guitar is in player's condition, with numerous dents and scratches throughout, tarnished parts, rust, and slight paint damage and peeling on the back of the neck. The frets remain at about 60% of their original height, and there are no issues with playability, including the neck condition and electrical system. The pickups have been replaced with DiMarzio PAF 36th Ann. pickups, eliminating the Tom Holmes Japan pickups, which are THC's biggest selling point. If you're thinking, "What? That's just a Fujigen LP model," you're a sharp-tongued guitarist! I agree. However, the current pickups are good, and the quality of this Japanese-made LP model is undeniably excellent, making it a high-quality instrument. You can use it as is! Or, swap out your favorite pickups to find the perfect combination! How you enjoy it is up to you!
