[Monitor Speakers KH 120-II (Pair)]
For Neumann, the KH 120 holds a special place in the KH lineup: it was our first product when we launched our monitor portfolio 12 years ago. The KH 120 quickly became the reference for high-end nearfield monitoring.
So what can we add to a perfect monitor that has earned acclaim worldwide? We are launching the KH 120 II, reflecting on 12 years of R&D progress and dozens of refined improvements. "Part of the Neumann philosophy is to never be satisfied with what we have developed so far. That's why we keep developing, optimizing and perfecting things," says Portfolio Manager Stephan Mauer.
One of the major improvements is the DSP-driven electronics, which enable phase-linear crossovers and Neumann's revolutionary MA 1 auto-monitor alignment, while all sonic parameters have also been improved.
The new version boasts even less distortion, deeper bass, higher maximum sound pressure levels, and improved resolution. The redesigned cabinet is made from MDF (medium-density fiberboard), a sustainable material with greater rigidity than the aluminum previously used. The woofer also features an all-new design. The newly developed cabinet now features a traditional mathematically modeled dispersion (MMD) waveguide. Patent-pending amplifier technology delivers superior audio performance with Class-D energy efficiency, as well as dozens of other improvements. The new series also offers an AES67 option and is available in two colors: anthracite (dark gray) and white.
The KH 120 II is a powerful update for an application that has seen strong growth in recent years: near-field monitoring is key in the ever-changing environments in which audio professionals work, including broadcast stations, OB trucks, project and recording studios, as well as streaming events and live recordings. The KH 120 II is a worthy successor to the venerable KH 120 A. Combined with the alignment system MA 1, it is ready to meet the needs of the next generation.
