Description
Description
The Samar Audio Design VL373 is a special stereo ribbon microphone designed to achieve what Samar Audio Design considers to be the "perfect stereo image."
The two ribbon elements are closely spaced and precisely designed to eliminate phase distortion up to the ultra-high frequencies. The VL373 combines two identically designed microphones, the VL37, into a single enclosure.
Like the VL37, it uses the exact same motor structure, components, and tuning as the high-end MF65 model, and each one is meticulously handcrafted and finished by perfectionist Dr. Mark Hoeksman himself.
Main features
What sets the VL373 apart from other stereo ribbon microphones is its swiveling mechanism. Rotating the central axis allows for wide-angle stereo angle adjustment. The angle can be freely adjusted from 60 to 120 degrees, making it ideal for recording large string sessions and classical orchestral stereo recordings. It's also an all-purpose microphone for choruses, small ensembles, brass bands, drum overheads, room and ambient recordings, and stereo recording of acoustic instruments like acoustic guitar and violin.
Its perfect tonal balance allows for stereo recordings that capture the natural sound and resonance of your instruments in perfect detail.
This stereo ribbon microphone is compatible with stereo recording such as Blumlein, MS, or XY, and has a beautiful, flat, and natural sound quality, embodied in Samar Audio Design's perfectionist philosophy.
