Description
The P-87 is the legendary 1970s classic U87 type microphone. Peluso aimed to recreate the sound character of the original design of this most popular and globally standard microphone.
This center-terminated, large-diaphragm microphone is powered by 48V phantom power and features a transformer output. The P-87 features three heavy-duty toggle switches located on the front of the microphone, allowing you to select omnidirectional, cardioid, or bidirectional polar patterns. A low-cut switch on the back of the microphone reduces the proximity effect for vocals and other sounds. Another switch, a -10dB pad switch, is useful for recording loud instruments such as brass, guitar amps, and drums. The utility functions are also comparable. A stereo matching option is also available.
The P-87 comes as a complete system package: the microphone itself, a cloth inner bag, a shock mount, and a holder mount, all packed in a carrying case.
