This chamois cloth is made from the leather of Ezo deer, which live in Hokkaido.
In addition to wiping away dirt, the oil contained in the chamois also provides a coating effect.
Since Ezo deer were protected as an endangered species at the beginning of the Meiji era, their population has rapidly increased, causing serious problems such as adverse effects on the agricultural and forestry environment, damage to crops, and collisions with automobiles. Since 2010, more than 100,000 deer have been captured each year.
The Hokkaido deer used in this product were not captured specifically for the purpose of manufacturing cloth, so there may be bullet holes and scratches from the capture, as well as variations in the thickness of the leather.
However, in order to ensure that the precious lives of the exterminated Ezo deer are used without waste, these parts are not discarded but are treated as quality products. We ask for your understanding.
