Description
Description
In the late 1970s, Gibson released models like the "Les Paul KM" and "Les Paul Heritage 80," which were reproductions of the original Les Paul Standard. Music stores that did business with Gibson began ordering reissue Les Pauls with more vintage-style specifications (Leo's Reissue, Guitar Trader Reissue, and Gibson Japan's '59 Vintage are some of the more well-known examples). Following this trend, in 1983 Gibson released a reissue model of the 1959 Samburt Les Paul.
The latest arrival is a 1988 model that appears to have been ordered from Japan.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.0 kg. It features a two-piece maple top with a deep carving, described as "Deep-Dish," and a one-piece mahogany back, traditional materials. Its beautiful Heritage Cherry Sunburst color is a real draw. To showcase the beautiful grain, the guitar is designed without a pickguard (a dedicated pickguard is included). While there is some aging in the elbow area, scratches, and tarnish on the metal parts, it is in fairly good condition considering its age. The tailpiece has been replaced.
【neck】
The neck is made of mahogany. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. Like the body, it is in fairly good condition, with only minor scratches and tarnish on the metal parts. The tuners are Grover 135N keystone-style, stamped "GIBSON DELUXE," and function well with little variation in winding. The frets and nut show some wear, but there are no significant issues with choking or other issues, and playability is excellent. The nut width is 43.1mm. The neck shape is not too thick, but is still solid.
[Electrical system]
The controls are the classic Les Paul model: 3-way pickup selector, 2 volume controls, and 2 tone controls. The pickups are two "The Original" humbuckers produced by Bill Lawrence, which were often used in regular models of the time. They offer a slightly more powerful sound, while still maintaining the crisp, drive-like tone typical of Gibson humbuckers. It's rare to find one in near-mint condition on the market, so be sure to check it out.
