Description

Les Paul is a legendary jazz guitarist who has had a profound influence on the history of popular music, particularly on the electric guitar and its playing techniques. Gibson released his signature model, the Les Paul Model, in 1952. Despite many twists and turns since then, the Les Paul model remains a standard in the electric guitar world, beloved by guitarists worldwide, with a diverse lineup including vintage reissues and models inspired by the guitar produced by other companies.

This time, we have a 1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard, manufactured at the Nashville factory. While custom colorways are commonplace, the pearl white version is especially rare. Like the regular model, this coveted Gibson flagship model features the latest specs from the era.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.6 kg. The body is a classic maple top/mahogany back design. The rare custom pearl white finish is incredibly beautiful. While there is some fading to the top coat, weather checking, minor dents, and tarnish on the metal parts, it's in fairly good condition considering its age. The pickguard and strap pins have been replaced with new ones.

【neck】
The guitar features a standard head width, commonly referred to as a small headstock, and the neck is made of three-piece maple, like the regular model, but without the volute, which some players may appreciate. The back of the neck, like the body, shows weather checking, and there is some cloudiness in the top coat around the headstock. The tuners are made by Schaller and feature the "Gibson" logo. The winding is almost even and they function well. The frets are naturally low, and while there is some wear, especially on the low frets, there are no significant dents that would interfere with playability. The nut width is 43.7mm. The neck shape is relatively clean.

[Electrical system]
The controls are classic Les Paul style: 3-way pickup selector, 2 volume controls, and 2 tone controls. The pickups are the same Gibson humbuckers found on the regular model. They offer a warm, clean tone in clean settings, as well as a powerful, articulate sound in crunch and overdrive settings.
