Description

The Jazzmaster debuted in 1958. Its original specs were released until the late 1970s, and it never achieved stable popularity or sales. However, advances in replacement parts allowed for a wider range of arrangements, and its popularity soared again. Today, it's widely seen in professional settings, and is popular with people of all ages and genders as a guitar that can be used in real-world situations. It certainly feels like it's become a major model in the guitar world.

This Jazzmaster was shipped around 1966, but as you can see, it does not have a matching headstock and appears to be a combination of two different necks and bodies. The neck features dot position marks and cell binding, highly sought after by vintage enthusiasts, and the body is finished in the rare custom color, Dakota Red, making it a truly beautiful guitar. Customization with your favorite replacement parts, such as the Mastery Bridge and Buzz Stop Bar, has become even more enjoyable. This is a rare custom color, perfect for anyone looking for a signature Jazzmaster.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.8 kg. The body is made of alder. The vibrant Dakota Red color is eye-catching. There is weather checking throughout, minor dents, paint chipping around the elbows and neck pocket, burnt plastic parts, and dull metal parts, but considering the age of the guitar, it is in fairly good condition. Several of the set screws on the bridge saddles have been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. As mentioned above, the non-matching headstock has a nice weather-checked finish from the top to the back of the neck, with few scratches and in good condition. The headstock logo remains intact with only slight peeling. The tuners function well, with only a little unevenness in winding. The frets and nut have been replaced once and are currently only slightly worn, ensuring good playability. The headstock thickness is 16.2mm. The nut width is 42.3mm. The neck is characterized by a relatively wide and sturdy shape.

[Electrical system]
The controls are the familiar Jazzmaster style: a 3-way pickup selector, master volume, and master tone control, and a neck (front) pickup preset mode switch, preset volume, and preset tone control. Other than replacing some damaged wiring, the pickups and other control components remain highly original. Backed by a powerful, natural tone, the guitar offers a rich, thick, and warm front position, a crisp, speedy rear position, and a comfortable, vintage-inspired tone.
