Ibanez VINTAGE LR-10 '82 Antique Violin

Ibanez, a world-renowned guitar brand, has a long history, beginning with the manufacture of its own Spanish guitars in the 1930s. From the 1950s onward, it focused on the export and sale of electric guitars, but around 1979, it made a full-fledged return to the Japanese market by importing guitars back into Japan. Since then, it has grown into a global brand that leads the music scene both domestically and internationally.

This latest arrival is the "LR-10," a signature model of jazz guitar legend Lee Ritenour, and based on the serial number, it was manufactured by Fujigen in 1982.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.9 kg. The color is a deep reddish antique violin. It looks great on the maple body with its beautiful flame pattern. The F-hole covers, which are often missing, are still intact, making this a highly original instrument. There is some damage such as scratches, dents, and tarnishing on the metal parts. The binding deterioration, which is common in Ibanez guitars from this period, is only minor, with some cracks and chips, and is not very noticeable. Some cracks can be seen on the control knobs.

【neck】
This guitar features a three-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck, and as expected from an artist model, the fingerboard is made of beautiful rosewood. The Ibanez logo plate remains on the back of the headstock. There are some small dents on the back of the neck, but they do not cause any noticeable snagging. The tuners are original velvet tuners, and although there is some slight variation in the winding, they function properly. The frets and nut show only slight wear, and there is no extreme buzzing or dead spots, resulting in good playability. The nut width is approximately 43.6mm. The solid neck width and thin neck shape are characteristic of Ibanez guitars.

[Electrical System]
The controls are a standard configuration of [2 volume/2 tone/3-way pickup selector switch]. The pickups are two "LR Special" pickups, an improved version of the familiar Super 58 with increased turns for increased power. Although they are high-output pickups, they don't sound unruly, and the sound is pleasant with rich bass and clear, extended treble. Thanks to the F-hole cover, feedback is controlled, and it excels at producing a clear, well-defined tone that makes the most of its power.
