Description

Following the Jazzmaster, which saw sales boom during the surf music craze of the 1950s, the Jaguar was released in 1962 as Fender's top-of-the-line guitar. It was heavily ordered in custom colors from the start, and it rode the trend well, boosting sales. However, the guitar's characteristics were not well-suited to the rock music that later became popular worldwide, and production was discontinued in the mid-1970s. Later, with the emergence of a charismatic figure representing the grunge/alternative movement, the Jaguar was rediscovered, and it remains a model that blends seamlessly into today's diverse music scene, making its presence felt.

This guitar was produced around 1966, featuring dot position markers and a neck with cell binding, making it a rare example of a transitional model from the minor change period. It comes in the popular custom color, Candy Apple Red, with a matching headstock. Jaguars are popular with players of all ages and genders, and are sure to look stunning under the stage lighting.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.7 kg. The body is made of alder, finished in a beautiful metallic candy apple red color. While there is some weather checking, paint chipping, dents, pick marks on the pickguard, and tarnish on the metal parts, the guitar is in relatively good condition considering its age. The mute is missing.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. Featuring dot position markers and a cell-bound neck—a rare feature from the transitional period—and a matching headstock in the same color as the body, this guitar is highly sought after among vintage guitar enthusiasts. While there are dents around the headstock and weather-checking on the back of the headstock, it retains a vintage feel while remaining in relatively good condition. The smooth feel of the back of the neck, despite its signs of wear, is characteristic of vintage guitars. The tuners are Fender "F-Key" tuners. While there is some variation in winding tension, they function well. The frets and nut have been replaced, and although the frets are low, they have been filed down and adjusted for excellent playability. The headstock thickness is 15.9mm, and the nut width is 42.2mm. The neck profile is characteristic of Fender necks from this period. It features a relatively clean, unobtrusive neck shape.

[Electrical system]
The controls are: Main (neck (front) pickup ON/OFF switch, bridge (rear) pickup ON/OFF switch, low-cut switch), master volume, master tone; and Preset (preset ON/OFF switch, preset volume, preset tone). The pickups are two original gray bottoms. The main volume pot has been replaced. The 24-inch scale offers a distinctively crisp tone with a short sustain, while the response and harmonic richness create a rich Fender sound.
