Description

Founded in 1883, Gretsch has supplied a wide range of musical instruments since then, and in the 1950s began developing electric guitars, and continues to produce attractive guitars today.

This latest model is a commemorative model released in 1958, marking Gretsch's 75th anniversary. It features a single pickup and sunburst finish, model number 6124 Anniversary, and is believed to have been shipped in 1965.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.1 kg. The body is made of maple, has a 16-inch wide, 2-1/2-inch thick hollow body, and is clad in a sophisticated sunburst color. Although there is weather checking, deterioration of the cell binding, cracks in the pickguard due to age, dents and other scratches, and dullness of parts, the paint itself has a good shine and is in relatively good condition. The cell binding on the heel and the wooden base of the bridge have been replaced. The pickguard set screws have also been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. While there is some weather checking on the headstock, some minor dents and paint chipping, and some tarnish on the metal parts, the condition is relatively good, just like the body. The tuners function well with little variation in winding. The frets and nut have been replaced and the neck angle reset at our shop, resulting in exceptional playability. The nut width is 44.0mm, and the neck shape is solid.

[Electrical system]
The single pickup features a simple tone switch and volume control. The pickup is an original Hi-Lo Tron located on the neck side. It features a finely tuned output based on the acoustic body resonance, and delivers the clear, crisp tone typical of vintage Gretsch guitars.
