Description

★Portable Sound Reference

The NDH 30 is an open-back headphone with excellent resolution, precise stereo imaging and sharp positioning, reproducing detailed sound. Its linear sound field and excellent transient response make it ideal for the most demanding applications, including mixing and mastering.

Perfect Neumann quality monitoring anywhere
The NDH 30 was developed with the goal of bringing the reference sound of a Neumann studio monitor setup, perfectly calibrated with the MA 1, to anywhere in the world, in the form of easily portable headphones. At the same time, the NDH 30 has established a unique sound reference for headphone reproduction, delivering significant benefits to users. Its excellent sound characteristics make the NDH 30 the ideal choice for mixing and mastering. Its long-term comfort also makes it suitable for precision editing. The high-quality spring steel and aluminum construction and comfortable handling are almost identical to the NDH 20. However, because the NDH 30 is an open-back headphone, the 38mm dynamic driver functions as an acoustic dipole. This allows for optimal development of refined sound characteristics, including extremely fast transient response, dry bass, uncolored midrange, and transparent highs. In other words, the NDH 30 reproduces the signal one-to-one without any coloration.

Uncompromising Accuracy: While many other headphones have previously been prone to overemphasis in the high frequencies, leading to erroneous mixing decisions, the NDH 30 achieves superior linearity by using absorbers that eliminate specific frequencies to eliminate that overemphasis. For example, with the NDH 30, you can accurately determine whether a voice sounds muffled or requires a de-esser. Spatial resolution is impressive. The NDH 30 delivers sharp positioning in the stereo panorama, revealing the depth of the mix. To minimize channel crosstalk, the NDH 30 comes with a high-quality, cloth cable that is internally balanced.

As part of the KH monitor family, the NDH 30 boasts high linearity and detail resolution, ensuring perfect compatibility with monitor speaker systems optimally calibrated by Neumann Automatic Monitor Alignment. A mix started with an NDH 30 at home or on the go can be seamlessly continued with KH monitor speakers in the studio, and vice versa. With headphone playback now commonplace, the NDH 30 is also recommended as a headphone sound reference. The NDH 30 is ideal for checking headphone compatibility and creating binaural mixes for immersive content like VR and games. Because consistency and reliability are essential in mixing and mastering, the NDH 30 is manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, ensuring that every NDH 30 produces the exact same sound.
