Description

The Boden Prog NX series offers smooth tremolo action and ultra-fast, punchy tone.

When .strandberg*'s revolutionary Boden series quietly emerged in the underground guitar community 12 years ago, it ushered in one of the most significant revolutions in the guitar industry in a long time. Headless guitars continue to thrive in the 21st century, stronger than ever, fueled by guitar players determined to forge ahead rather than cling to the traditions of the past.

The Boden series began in 2010 with the first Made-to-Measure guitar (a fully custom .strandberg* guitar), and has undergone numerous design iterations. Since then, limited quantities have been produced in custom shops in the United States, Sweden, and Japan, with the first fixed lineup being produced in 2015. The Boden OS series is now manufactured in Asian countries, reaching a wider audience of guitar players worldwide. The resounding success of the Boden OS series has led to the launch of Original, Prog, Fusion, Metal, Classic, and numerous artist models, which have achieved even greater success and penetrated all mainstream guitar markets, including the United States, Europe, Far East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and South America. The Boden series has truly become a global guitar industry-changing phenomenon.

Aggressive yet refined, the Prog NX series builds on the design of the Original NX series, featuring an EGS Pro Rev7 tremolo unit and a smooth, playable Richlite fingerboard. With a sharper tone than the Original models, the Prog models are ideal for modern progressive and metal players using high-gain systems. The versatile Suhr pickups and switching system produce a wide range of tones to cover virtually any playing style or musical genre.

Similar to the revolutionary Original Series, the Prog NX Series is essentially a tremolo-equipped version with a Richlite fingerboard. These features produce a smoother feel and crisper tone. Extremely lightweight and scientifically designed for comfort and reduced arm strain, the Prog NX Series features chambered swamp ash (or sassafras) bodies, solid maple tops with premium flame or quilted maple veneers, maple necks, and Richlite fingerboards. These features create a powerful acoustic resonance with a more high-end bite.

The EGS Pro Rev7 tremolo unit is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum, delivering Boden's signature acoustic sound while providing exceptionally smooth and responsive tremolo action. Each piece of the new Rev 7 hardware bridge features an auto-locking mechanism, improving durability and vibration transmission, as well as speeding string changes and action adjustments. The traditional fulcrum tremolo design and back-mounted tremolo springs give the Pro NX series a more open sound compared to the fixed-bridge Original NX series.

Electrically, the Prog NX series features Suhr passive pickups (SSH+ in the bridge position, SSV in the neck position) on the 6-string model and Fishman active pickups (Fluence Modern Ceramic in the bridge position, Fluence Modern Alnico in the neck position) on the 7-string model. These choices faithfully and powerfully capture the guitar's original acoustic character and output it to your favorite guitar amp or system, while providing tonal flexibility to suit virtually any musical genre and playing style.
