■What is a handpan?
The original "hang drum" was invented in 2001 by a Swiss musical instrument company based on the "steel pan," which was invented in the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.Similar products made by other companies are collectively called "handpans."
It is a piano-like melodic percussion instrument played by hand, and is characterized by a long, ambient, ethnic sound that is hard to imagine from its rugged appearance.

■How to play the handpan Sound is produced by striking the concave area called the Tonefield with the palm of your finger.
It is hollow inside, and produces a mysterious tone that is characterized by a unique extension caused by resonance and, above all, by multiple layers of overtones.
The convex part in the middle is called the Ding and produces the lowest note (bass note).
