PROGRAMS
M1 has six programs, each with three different program types.
Chorus
From subtle choruses to vibrant, lush tri-chorus that'll instantly transport you back to the '80s. Type I is a traditional chorus perfect for tight, smooth chorus tones. Type II is rooted in the classic tri-chorus effect, which uses three chorus units operating in parallel to create a rich, multi-dimensional chorus. Type III transforms into a sweeping, vintage-style flanger that modulation fans will love.
Phaser
It combines the classic 70s phaser sound we all know and love with some unexpected features. Type 1 is a two-stage phaser with a classic, mild single notch. Type 2 is a four-stage model with two notches for a more aggressive effect. Type 3 is a phaser modeled after the unique tuning and LFO waveforms found in the Uni-Vibe.
Tremolo
This program mimics three different algorithms for bells, whistles, and more. Type 1 is similar to the Walrus Audio Monument's standard mode, producing a great, traditional sound with optical and bias tremolos that raise and lower the entire frequency range. Type 2 is a warm, soothing harmonic tremolo similar to the Monument's harmonic mode. This unique sound is achieved by raising and lowering the high and low frequencies in relative increments. Type 3 is a pulsating tremolo synced to the rhythm of several pre-defined patterns.
Vibrato
Type 1 specializes in traditional vibrato sounds. Type 2 is a digital sound that mimics an old record player, with the Rate knob allowing you to select from 33 RPM, 45 RPM, or a maximum of 78 RPM. Type 3 is a modern take on the wow and flutter heard on old tape recorders, creating a warm, nostalgic feel.
Rotary
Large rotary speakers like Leslie speakers don't fit on a pedalboard.
Type 1 simulates a wet, oil-filled Leslie speaker. Type 2 simulates the effect of rotating only the horn rotor (treble) and producing sound from both the drum rotor (bass). Type 3 simulates the effect of rotating only the drum rotor (bass) and producing sound from both the horn rotor (treble).
Filter
Type 1 is a low-pass filter, suitable for creating darker tones. Type 2 is a high-pass filter, allowing you to modulate the lower frequencies. Type 3 is a band-pass filter. Use the main LFO to drive the filter's frequency band, or set Depth to zero and use the Lo-fi envelope to drive the filter's frequency band with your playing dynamics.
Lo-Fi Controls
The M1 has six Lof-Fi type global controls: use the right encoder knob to degrade it to an old sound, then use the Lo-Fi knob to adjust the overall mix.
Env
The Envelope dynamically controls the tone depending on how hard you play.
Drive
Drive adds a crunchy, analog drive that simulates warm, distorted analog circuits.
Space
Space adds reverb to the modulation. Set it to minimum to turn it off, and increase the reverb amount and decay.
Age
Age is a complex set of filters that simulates the limited bandwidth of vintage audio players and recording equipment. It contains five predefined filter combinations. Turning the dial takes you back to the days of cutting lows and highs. At lower settings, you can achieve a modern, all-over, slightly uncertain tone, while at higher settings you can recreate a cheap AM radio sound.
Noise
Noise adds an analog-style noise to your sound. The character of the noise varies depending on the selected program and type. Turning up the Noise can add tape hiss, vinyl crackle, or pop noise to the selected program.
Warble
Warble allows you to make the main LFO waveform more complex. Setting the knob below 12 o'clock will give you a gentler "warping" effect, while setting it above 12 o'clock will make the LFO waveform take on a more random shape.
PRESETS
The M1 MKII has a total of 128 preset slots. To access a preset, press the left and center encoders simultaneously. The first nine presets can be selected from banks A/B/C and accessed directly from the pedal using the BYPASS and TAP/SKIP switches to toggle presets simultaneously. All 128 presets are accessible via MIDI program change messages.
