A fuzz pedal that reproduces the "Kay Fuzz Tone," designed as a budget version of Shin-ei/Univox's classic "Superfuzz"!
Kay Musical Instruments was founded on July 1, 1931 by Henry Kay Kuhrmeyer.
Henry soon shifted its focus to producing basses, violas, guitars and other instruments, but it wasn't until the late 1960s that they entered the guitar pedal market with a series of delightfully quirky, knob-less plastic pedals.
The four models - Fuzztone F1, Tremolo T1, Wah-Wah W1, and Bass Boost B1 - had knob-less foot-operated units, and the parameters of each effect were controlled with your feet.
The Kay Fuzz Tone was likely released in late 1968 or early 1969 and was originally designed as a budget version of the Shin-ei/Univox Superfuzz, becoming one of the Edge's staple pedals.
54 years later, JHS released Mary-K, an arrangement of the Kay Fuzz Tone.
In addition, knobs and expression pedal terminals have been added, allowing you to use it according to its intended purpose.
