The RD Compact Hot Rod delivers the overdrive tone of a massive Hot Rod amp in a compact package. Building on the legacy of its predecessors, the RD Compact Hot Rod delivers even more gain and a new character to redefine the sound heard in hard rock and early heavy metal.
The all-analog circuitry recreates the signal path of a classic valve amp, delivering not only the sound but also the dynamics, texture, and response of a hot rod amp.

When amplifier engineers in the '70s and '80s sought new, aggressive rock guitar sounds, they explored the limits of what existing amplifiers could do. RD COMPACT Hot Rod was born from ORIGIN EFFECTS pushing the limits of what was possible with the RevivalDRIVE compact pedal.
Built on the overdrive sound of an actual valve amp, the RD COMPACT Hot Rod features increased saturation gain and fine-tuned voicing for a more characterful sound. By recreating power sag, it even recreates the subtle compression effect of a valve amp, delivering the perfect sound for percussive riffs.
The RD Compact Hot Rod isn't just a one-trick hard rock machine: its valve amp-style signal path works just like the real thing, delivering super clean tones as well as distortion.
Powerful Post-Drive EQ
Most overdrive pedals have a specific compatibility with certain amps, and while they may work well with certain amps, they may be limited in the environments in which they can be used. By using the post-drive EQ built into the RD COMPACT Hot Rod, you no longer have to compromise on the clean sound settings of your amp. Simply set your amp to your desired clean sound, then adjust the EQ filter on the RD COMPACT Hot Rod after the EQ.
