Gibson's electric bass guitar debuted in 1953 (this model was later called the EB-1). With a wide variety of models ranging from violin-shaped and double-cutaway solid-body models to semi-hollow-body models, it has gained the support of many bassists.

This latest arrival is an EB-0, a single-pickup model shipped around 1972. It's a guitar that incorporates specifications from the 1970s.

【body】
The total weight is approximately 4.2 kg. The familiar SG-shaped body is made of mahogany. The newer bodies from the 1970s feature an elbow contour and body contour, and the pickups are positioned closer to the center. It originally had a cherry color finish, but it has faded to the point where it looks like mahogany brown at first glance. The cherry color remains vividly in the cavity and under the pickguard. Weather checking, small dents, and tarnishing of the metal parts are visible, giving it a wonderful vintage instrument feel. The wood damage near the output jack has now been properly repaired. The bridge cover is missing.

【neck】
The neck is made of 3-piece mahogany, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. It has a 30-inch scale and 21 frets. There is some weather checking around the headstock and neck joint, as well as minor dents, paint chips, and tarnishing on the metal parts, but it is in relatively good condition. The tuners are fairly evenly wound and function well. The frets and nut show only slight wear, and playability is good. The nut width is 41.7mm. It features a relatively firm neck shape.

[Electrical System]
The controls are a simple master volume/master tone. The pickups are the original EB series pickups. This is a new version where the pickup position has been moved from closer to the neck in the old specification to closer to the center of the body. The volume potentiometer and tone capacitor have been replaced.

With its mahogany body, 30-inch scale length, and large EB humbucker pickups, this guitar boasts a thick, full low-mid range. Compared to the older version with the pickup positioned closer to the neck, the more centrally placed pickups give the low end a slightly tighter definition, while the moderate midrange presence and core tone create a more defined sound. When fingerpicked, you'll enjoy a thick, sustained tone, and when played with a pick, you'll experience a powerful sound with just the right amount of attack.
