Description
Description
"BLACK SMOKER" is a handmade brand from BLACK CLOUD, a workshop in Nagano Prefecture, a mecca for musical instrument manufacturing where many brands are located. This brand has already gained popularity among many professional musicians for its sophisticated and high-quality sound, playability, and looks. It's a notable brand created by three people: CEO Kuroiwa, who has been involved in the design and manufacturing of numerous manufacturers and models, young builder Yanagisawa, who collaborates with him, and builder Itasaka, who has worked for a long-established Japanese brand.
The highly acclaimed and popular "TradMaster" series features a simple, standard, and classic spec that showcases the brand's true value, finished with a lacquer finish and lightly aged finish for a vintage feel. Based on a 60s JB with an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, this model features a PB-style neck. While maintaining the nut width and thickness typical of a PB, the neck shape features a smooth curve for a comfortable playing feel. The sharp JB sound is enhanced by the wide neck for just the right amount of thickness, making this a desirable finish for players of all styles, whether playing with fingers or a pick. Furthermore, the exquisitely aged lacquer finish, aged parts, and vintage-style bridge contribute not only to the look but also to the rich, powerful sound.
The pickups are Blacksmoker originals, and can be used in a variety of ways, from a PB-like, solid sound when placed in the front pickup to a JB sound when mixed with the rear pickup. The TONE control allows for series/parallel switching, and can also be used for a powerful humbucker-like sound.
This model is highly recommended for those who want the classic JB sound with just the right amount of thickness and who want to play with a pick. Due to the limited production numbers, this is a handcrafted bass, and despite being a highly sought-after brand, only a very limited number are available. This bass is recognized by professionals for both its playability and sound, and its quality has already made a big name for itself in the scene. Give it a try!
