Our custom-ordered Freedom "Anthra" 5-string model is now in stock!
FCGR (Freedom Custom Guitar Research) continues to captivate many players with the captivating sound of its high-quality instruments, crafted with an eye to the future while respecting the exceptional skills and traditions of its skilled artisans. This "Anthra" bass is a world-class original model that embodies the "essence of the instrument" that this workshop is so committed to.
The original body shape, inspired by the Rhino series, boasts excellent fit and maneuverability, and features a four-point neck joint with a bushing system for smooth access to the upper registers. The newly developed, original bridge, carved from solid brass, delivers a warm, rich tone with a clear bottom end. The lightweight ash body, maple neck, and Indian rosewood fingerboard create a crisp attack and punchy bass with plenty of dynamics.
Although the standard specification is passive, this unit was ordered with active specifications. The Anthra has a rich sound even in passive mode, but by incorporating the original 2-band EQ preamp, detailed sound shaping is possible, making it more suitable for practical use.
The body color is a calm, deep blue called "Zero Hour (0:00)." The thin paintwork brings out the grain and texture of the ash, creating a color reminiscent of the stillness of midnight. Combined with the bright, fiery tortoiseshell pickguard and gold hardware, the result is a unique look that embodies inner energy.
This model features FCGR's original, maintenance-free, and renowned Eternal Frets, an extremely thin finish that brings out the natural resonance of the wood, durability achieved through rigorous seasoning, and a setup that showcases the skill of our artisans for playability and acoustic characteristics. By returning to a simple design, this model maintains the charm and enjoyment that only our workshop can offer, while also keeping the price down.
