"BLACK SMOKER" is a handmade brand from BLACK CLOUD, a workshop in Nagano Prefecture, a mecca for musical instrument manufacturing where many brands are located. This brand has already gained popularity among many professional musicians for its sophisticated and high-quality sound, playability, and looks. It's a notable brand created by three people: CEO Kuroiwa, who has been involved in the design and manufacturing of numerous manufacturers and models, young builder Yanagisawa, who collaborates with him, and builder Itasaka, who has worked for a long-established Japanese brand.

This cost-effective standard model has enjoyed consistent popularity since the brand's inception. Its simple, classic specifications allow you to fully appreciate the brand's true value, combining practicality and individuality. While its alder body, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard are simple, the carefully selected materials are immediately apparent upon first note. The neck shape, while slimmer for playability, maintains the core of the sound. The original pickups accurately reproduce the body's resonance while producing a full, rich sound. The smooth setup allows for effortless playing, making this a bass that truly conveys the instrument's quality of construction. The mini-switch for switching between series and parallel pickups isn't a gimmick with excessive boost, but instead delivers a fully usable sound in either position. Furthermore, the 5-string model features a slightly longer 34.5-inch (876mm) neck, further enhancing intonation and separation at the lower frets while providing virtually no discomfort when playing. The 21-fret, five-tuner set, a standard feature in the Standard Series, is still present, providing a rich tone without excessive peaking. Depending on the settings and playing style, this guitar can be used for any genre or sound. This model also features a black pearl binding, a new initiative for the brand. Combined with the block positions, it gives off a very cool look. The side fingerboard positions now feature Luminlay, a glow-in-the-dark material previously only available on the Artist Model, allowing you to concentrate on your performance with peace of mind, even on a dark stage.


While the TradMaster models that have dominated the market in recent years feature a lacquer and aged finish, this standard model uses a urethane finish, offering the same build quality while offering excellent value for money. The black metallic color, which changes color depending on the light, is sure to show its true value on stage.
