Description

Introducing the passive Ash body JB type!

Three Dots Guitars was founded with the concept of providing bass guitars with the playability and reliability needed for professional use, all at an affordable price. This high-cost-performance model, developed under the supervision of bassist Tak Saito, who is deeply involved with the workshop, and leading Japanese luthier Yoshiyuki Kikuchi, has been updated with a new headstock and position markings. The headstock shape adopts the design of Kikuchi Guitars, further evolving as a sister brand. Furthermore, this is the first passive guitar to feature an ash body. The matching rosewood fingerboard produces a clear, dry tone with a bass-like, enveloping sound.

While maintaining the traditional JB style, Kikuchi has incorporated his accumulated expertise and sensibilities to create a model that is "cost-effective yet suitable for professional use." The body, slightly larger than a full-size guitar, embodies the "just right" feeling. While the grip and fingerboard radius are standard, the neck features a low-angle action to accommodate modern playing styles, and parts designed for weight and sustain while maintaining a tight feel. These specifications combine traditional style with modern ease of use. These were selected and crafted after extensive comparisons with a vintage JB owned by Tak Saito, with the goal of achieving a sound that rivals vintage guitars in the field. The most notable feature is the pickups custom-made for this model. These parts were carefully crafted after dozens of prototypes and test runs by Tak Saito and Kikuchi. While faithfully reproducing the sound of the instrument itself, it delivers a clear attack, a bold presence that doesn't get lost in the ensemble, and low noise, making a big impact despite its simple specs. This high-quality setup also boasts overwhelming ease of playability and excellent intonation, needless to say.
The fact that they started with a simple passive-style JB rather than a unique, eccentric design shows the brand's strong commitment. With a rich sound that sets it apart from typical vintage reissues, this is a brand/model that has already made a big impact as a practical model for players.

Please experience the quality of our world-class domestic models.
