Description
A 2024 limited edition model made with vibrant purpleheart wood!
Maurice has a long history as a domestic manufacturer and has a wide range of fans, from legendary musicians to amateurs.
Despite their careful craftsmanship, they boast incredible cost performance and offer a wide lineup that covers everything from folk style to finger style.
Maurice is a long-established Japanese brand that dominated the folk music boom of the 1970s, but it was also Maurice that developed and released a guitar that was ideal for the new movement known as "fingerstyle guitar" in the 2000s, playing a key role in spreading and recognizing this style throughout Japan.
The S Series was released in 2001 as a dedicated fingerstyle instrument and gained popularity for its style-specific playability and outstanding sound. Since then, it has been improved many times, and is now a guitar series that continues to be in use today, more than 20 years later, as a ``masterpiece of fingerstyle guitar'' loved by a wide range of players, from beginners to veterans.
This instrument, the S-104PH, is a special model produced in limited quantities in 2025.
This is a remake of the popular "M-104PH", a limited edition model released in 2024, made with Englemann spruce, which is more suitable for fingerstyle playing.
The material composition is a top-quality Englemann spruce top with a beautiful, sparkling ripple finish, purpleheart back and sides with a beautiful and unique color, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Purpleheart wood, as its name suggests, is a vivid purple wood with a beautiful color and grain that makes it suitable for use in high-end solid wood tables.
It also has excellent durability and hardness, and when used for the sides and back of an acoustic guitar, it produces a clear, crisp, and responsive sound.
Generally, "hard wood" tends to have a short sustain, but this wood also has a long sustain that is important for fingerstyle.
It's light and clear, with a smooth sustain that extends even with a light touch, making it very comfortable, and combined with the deep, satisfying low range that's unique to the S Series, it produces the best sound.
In terms of appearance, the decoration is very attractive, packed with the attention to detail that only a limited edition model can have.
The gorgeous abalone trim and rosette, along with the gentian-motif fingerboard inlay, stand out against the vibrant purple of the Purpleheart.
This is truly a luxurious instrument that is both great to play and great to look at.
This is the only guitar we have in stock, making it a very rare piece, so don't miss out!
