Description

The moment you turn it on, catharsis explodes.

The Umbrella Company Mayonaise Fuzz was born from a unique interpretation of the fuzz distortion sound that continues to this day. Tuned to be both classic and modern, it respects the beloved character of the pedal. While referencing many legendary units, it offers a new texture and operability.

Rich, deep drive. Aggressive, penetrating overtones. Its greatest feature is the projection of the sound, a thoroughly alternative design. It also features a doping function that pushes the midrange, and a 1979 switch that changes the gain structure. It allows for versatile sound creation suited to the modern scene.

The moment you step on it, it inverts and dominates the air. This is truly a fuzz drive pedal that should be played right now.

A beautiful, intense, deep and violent roaring drive
The overwhelming roar that defines alternative rock. Candy-sweet, diffused overtones. Searing sustain. Heavy growl, massive, extended feedback. The Mayonaise Fuzz was inspired by many classic units and designed to be a drive unit with a familiar yet new texture.

Fuzz distortion pedals in the Muff lineage have numerous arrangements and derivative models, with diverse sound design directions that reflect the builder's intent. Mayonaise Fuzz focuses on sound projection and penetration, creating a drive that "flies" through the ensemble. The silky overtones that emerge as you increase the gain assert a smooth yet aggressive presence. The beautiful, thunderous sound is three-dimensional, with a mysteriously soothing quality. And with a cool, lingering finish to the sustain, Mayonaise Fuzz will never let you down.

While Mayonaise Fuzz pays homage to the classic fuzz distortion machines, it aims to create a new texture that goes beyond mere cloning. It adds proprietary functions to achieve a wide range of sound variations. It not only delivers a powerful drive that can blow away speaker cones, but also allows for aggressive sound adjustments to suit a variety of situations.

[DOPING switch]
A typical Muff tone circuit will have high and low frequencies ramping up and down around 12 o'clock, while the mids are always scooped. This is an important element in building that beloved distortion sound, but sometimes you want to cut through the space with an edgy midrange. The DOPING switch aggressively pushes the midrange that was lost in the tone circuit, injecting adrenaline into the sound.

● Normal (switch down)
With the doping function disabled, the tone control is in its familiar original tuning. The midrange is scooped, and the TONE knob is centered around 12 o'clock. Turning it left increases the lows and attenuates the highs, while turning it right attenuates the lows and emphasizes the highs. You can access a heavy, wall-like sound or a raspy tone with an emphasis on texture.

● Doping (on switch)
By enabling the DOPING function, the scooped midrange is strongly pushed forward, pushing the sound image forward. The texture of the tone control also changes, widening the sweet spot and providing more setting options. Try turning the TONE all the way down or even at the maximum setting.

[1979 Switch]
The 1979 switch cuts some of the capacitors and adds a full-range boost, changing the overall gain structure of the pedal, particularly affecting the high-frequency character and low-gain sound.

● Normal (switch down)
Familiar original tuning.

● 1979 (on the switch)
It works to remove the dark membrane of the original, improving the sense of compression in the high frequencies and expanding the range of protection. Even when using the volume control at hand to manipulate nuances, a weak point of the original, the gain control is more natural and effortlessly follows. The character of the low-gain setting, which was previously limited to certain situations, has also been changed, outputting a new sound sensation that combines fuzzy grain with a cutting crunch tone.

[Secret Mode]
By changing the jumper on the internal circuit board, you can change the sound character to one inspired by a specific Russian Civil War-era unit. This particular unit is a strange model, as it retains the Civil War exterior while sharing some internal components, such as capacitors, with those used in the later Army Green era. It features a very strong low-end presence and a "solid feel" that is completely different from other models.

The low end is menacing. The attack is so thumping you can practically hear the strings screaming. Try the normal mode first to avoid getting fired from your band, then try this mode if you want even more!
