Description
Description
The Alpha Omicron is a simplified version of the Alpha Omega, born from a collaboration between Darkglass and Jon Stockman, a brilliant composer/producer and bassist known for creating some of the world's most stunning bass tones.
This product is very different from the preamps and overdrives that Darkglass has already released, as it is based entirely on an op-amp and allows you to select or blend two completely different distortion circuits (ALPHA and OMEGA) using the MOD knob.
Like other models from the same brand, this unit is compatible with all basses, whether active or passive, but it is also recommended for use as a tube amp saturation amplifier, slightly distorting the clear bass sound to help the sound blend in with the band!
■Blend: Mixes the clean signal with the distorted signal. The volume of the distorted sound can be controlled with the Level knob, but the volume of the clean signal is always unity gain.
■Level: Controls the volume of the distortion signal.
■Drive: Controls the amount of distortion in the distorted signal.
Mod: Blend or select between two independent distortion circuits (Alpha is a tight, punchy sound with lots of definition, Omega is a simple, aggressive sound).
■Bite Switch: Boosts the high mids at 2.8kHz, adding presence and definition to your sound.
■Growl Switch: Shelving bass boost. Increases low-end saturation for a fatter tone.
*Please note
The ALPHA OMICRON consumes 20mA of power. Use a regulated 9V DC power adapter with a center negative polarity. Due to environmental considerations, it does not support 9V battery power (006P). Use of an unregulated power supply or a voltage higher than 9VDC may result in noise or damage to the unit, voiding the warranty.
