This is an excellent drive pedal that provides the same distortion feel whether passive or active.
No tube, no problem
The Vintage Microtubes Overdrive is a bass overdrive pedal that pays tribute to the legendary bass drive sounds that shine brightly in rock history. It delivers the warm nuances of a tube amp, a firm mid-low range, and a clear, crisp tone, all with natural dynamic response. It also delicately recreates the organic compression inherent in vintage tube amps and tape machines. Its wide distortion range allows for a rich range of textured distortion sounds, from a comfortable boost sound to a well-pitched crunch sound and a powerful, thick, vibrant overdrive sound. This pedal is recommended for those seeking a natural-oriented gain sound.
◆Control
Level: Adjusts the volume of the overdriven signal.
Drive: Adjusts the saturation of the overdrive.
Blend: Adjusts the ratio of the clean signal to the overdriven signal. The clean signal always remains at unity gain, and the overdriven signal can be adjusted with the Level knob. Using the Level and Blend knobs in combination allows for fine tuning.
Era: Changes the character of the pedal. Starting with a warm mid-range 70s tone, you can change the tone by turning up the knob, from a punchy metallic 80s tone to a modern 90s tone. All Darkglass pedals use relay true bypass.
*Note) A regulated 9VDC adapter with a center negative plug is required for operation. Current draw is 20mA. Batteries cannot be used.
*Please note that unregulated adapters or adapters with incompatible voltages may cause malfunctions.
