Description
Description
Dissatisfied with the performance of the many DIs available on the market, Rupert Neve attempted to design a new DI that would convey the original tone and vitality of the instrument.
The resulting RNDI delivers powerful, full harmonic detail from bass, guitar, acoustic instruments, and professional line-level sources.
Furthermore, the unique "Speaker Mode" allows you to handle signals from 1000W class power amplifiers and send them to the mixer while maintaining their tone.
The enclosure is extremely portable.
What's more, the RNDI handles instrument and amp signals with power and superb tone, making it the first DI box truly worthy of the Rupert Neve name.
[Main features]
The combination of a custom transformer designed by Mr. Neve and a discrete Class A amplifier delivers this incredible tone. Carefully selected parts and meticulous attention to design make the RNDI a model worthy of bearing the Rupert Neve name.
■Large headroom
The massive +21.5dBU input headroom allows for professional line-level sources to be used without padding, and a unique "Speaker Mode" allows for the connection of a 1000-watt power amplifier's speaker output (92 Vrms or 266 Vp-p).
*When in "Speaker Mode," be sure to connect the RNDI's THRU output to a compatible speaker.
■Sturdy solid steel chassis frameThe steel chassis body is well-painted, so you can use it safely even in harsh environments such as on tours.
■Various instruments, various purposes
The 2MΩ discrete FET input and generous headroom ensure excellent performance with a wide range of sources. The RNDI is ideal for connecting bass, guitar, acoustic instruments, keyboards, and professional line-level instruments. Even in "Instrument Mode," the RNDI's professional line-level outputs can be connected for re-amping.
■Can drive long signal lines The low impedance (50 Ω or less) output achieved by transformer coupling allows it to drive long signal lines while maintaining excellent performance even in the high frequency range.
■THRU output via standard jackIn the standard "Instrument Mode," the THRU output signal is connected to an instrument amplifier and used as a monitor for PA.In the unique "Speaker Mode," the THRU output connects the signal amplified by the power amplifier to a speaker.
*When in "Speaker Mode," be sure to connect the RNDI's THRU output to a compatible speaker.
Best-in-class phase characteristics Phase changes are kept to a minimum across the entire frequency range, resulting in a balanced and natural sound. By mixing this with a signal recorded by a microphone, you can achieve a lively sound.
■Equipped with a ground lift switch To eliminate problems such as ground noise, the unit is equipped with a ground lift switch on the rear panel.
■ Phantom Power
The RNDI is powered by standard 48V phantom power, and when powered, the LED on the front panel will illuminate blue.
