~A new stereo passive DI from the high-quality Japanese effects brand TRIAL~
A compact, lightweight, passive DI with stereo input and output that you've never seen before!
Although it is a passive amplifier, the gain loss is kept to around -8dB, making it easy to use in a variety of situations.
It is equipped with a GROUND LIFT switch to reduce noise, and a MELLOW switch to increase the influence of the transformer, allowing you to easily turn on the texture of the analog circuit.
The stereo DI is not only ideal for acoustic guitars, but also works great with instruments that use spatial effects, such as electric guitars and synthesizers.
The compact, lightweight, and robust body makes it a great ally for musicians who frequently perform live shows.
This is a transformer-based DI that has become increasingly popular among professional engineers in recent years.
With vivid low frequencies and three-dimensional high frequencies, the Passive Power DI adds the distinctive analog texture to the monotonous sound of modern music.
Conventional passive DIs have a gain loss of around -20dB, and boosting the signal to restore this lost gain is detrimental in terms of noise and sound quality.
The gain loss of the Passive Power DI is kept to around -8dB, making it suitable for use as a standard DI.
104mm(W) x 75mm(D) x 31mm(H), 300g
●The transformer has a rich, thick sound quality. It has a wide frequency range and faithful signal response. It is equipped with a MELLOW switch to further enhance the effect of the transformer.
High durability and portability. Highly durable and reliable Amphenol/Neutrik connectors. Lightweight and compact case design.
High-spec design: Low noise, low loss gain, and high headroom
Specifications include standard features such as THRU OUT and GROUND LIFT
● Ideal for stereo output effects and synthesizers to build a simple, streamlined sound system. Easy to use, no external power supply required. Adds an analog texture to inorganic digital sounds.
●DI that gives the output of digital devices an analog feel
The Passive Power DI is a perfect match for digital equipment. By passing the signal through an internal transformer, it calms the digital feel and roughness in the ultra-high frequencies, and transmits the desired sound, rather than data, to the mixer.
●The benefits of passive DIs used by professional engineers Passive DIs are revolutionary DIs that do not require a power source and have long been used in PA systems.
It requires some knowledge to use effectively, as it requires selecting the equipment to connect and reduces output gain, but the transformer used at the heart of the amplifier has an appealing analog-like sound, which is why it is chosen by professional engineers.
Since signal conversion is performed only by a transformer, there is no physical active noise, resulting in extremely low noise.
Because it operates without a power supply, there are no power supply voltage limitations, ensuring high headroom (allowable input).Even if you input high-output signals such as 18V active basses directly, there will be no clipping (distortion).
●Low loss specifications designed specifically for compatibility with active output instruments and preamps
The transformer for the DI has low input impedance, so it is suitable for a typical jazz bass or precision bass.
It does not work well with instruments with passive pickups (severe deterioration in sound quality).
Many passive DIs sacrifice volume level to increase input impedance in order to accommodate passive pickups.
However, the signal degradation is still evident.
The loss in volume is about -20dB, which is a huge loss.
As a result, it is necessary to increase the gain of the mixer (preamp) to restore the reduced volume, which also increases noise.
These can also cause the sound to become muddy.
For these reasons, it is safe to say that there are no situations in which passive DIs are used with instruments that have passive pickups.
The Passive Power DI is designed specifically for active signals, rather than trying to accommodate passive pickups.
The loss is set to around -8dB, which also functions as a moderate PAD, placing less strain on the output equipment and resulting in extremely low total noise.
