[The prototype model "R&D" cymbals imported from the Meinl Factory in Germany are now in stock!]
-Staff comment-
This is a flat ride model not listed in the catalogue among the Byzance Jazz Tradition models, and it is a smaller 16-inch size.
It's an ultra-thin guitar with a wide sustain, and it has a high-pitched, flat ride sound that's typical of a small diameter, giving it a fresh impression in a good way.
●Byzance Jazz Series
Made from B20 bronze alloy, hand-hammered for superior sound, and a beautiful, intricately harmonious sound with a variety of character characteristics.
■ Byzance Jazz Tradition
These authentic Turkish cymbals are hand-hammered in Turkey using traditional methods, exuding a Jazz vibe. The Byzance Jazz series perfectly blends the woody stick character created by the combination of multiple different lacings with the warm, lingering resonance of the steeply angled bow, capturing the sound heard on many classic jazz records.
The 22-inch model was released in 2014, followed by two 20-inch rides in different weights, a 22-inch flat ride, and a 14-inch hi-hat in 2015.
<22 Byzance Tradition Flat Ride>
The sweet ping sound with its complex overtones is accentuated with the clarity of a flat ride, and the sustain isn't too short, fading away with just the right amount of lingering resonance. This is a perfect record for acoustic jazz.
Size: 16 inches Weight: Approx. 1300g
