Description

Limited edition vintage cymbals celebrating Zildjian's 400th anniversary!

2023 is a special year for Zildjian and the Zildjian family, as we celebrate our 400th anniversary.
To commemorate this, the Zildjian family has decided to release 400 Vintage A cymbals, carefully selected from their vast private collection, worldwide.

400th Anniversary Limited Edition

The 20-inch Vintage A Ride Cymbal is a selection of the best 200 from the Zildjian family's historic vintage cymbal collection and will be released worldwide.
This cymbal was produced in the mid-1940s at the Zildjian factory in Quincy, Massachusetts, not far from the current factory.
These cymbals have stick marks and fingerprints, some of which belong to Armand Zildjian, who was a cymbal tester at the factory at the time. Furthermore, some of the fingerprints belong to Armand's father, Avedis Zildjian III. He purposely stored these cymbals in the family vault, not the company vault. That's how special these cymbals were to Avedis.

The 15-inch Vintage A Crash Cymbals are also part of the Zildjian family's historic vintage cymbal collection, and are limited to a worldwide release of 200 pieces. These cymbals were produced from the late 1930s to the mid-1950s. The kits of Buddy Rich and Roy Haynes also featured 15-inch crash cymbals, a popular sound at the time. These cymbals have been selected for their size, offering the best sound and appearance. They have a freshly lathed appearance.
These vintage cymbals truly represent a part of Zildjian history and are a great addition to your drum kit.

These vintage cymbals come in a 400th anniversary protective travel case, complete with gloves, a cymbal stand adapter, and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Craigie Zildjian, 14th generation owner of Avedis Zildjian.

*About the cymbal stand adapter: These vintage cymbals have relatively small mounting holes (holes for attaching to cymbal stands) from the time of the cymbals. An adapter is included so that these cymbals can be played on modern cymbal stands. To preserve the value of the cymbals, no modifications have been made to the original cymbals. We recommend using the adapter when playing.

"It's not easy to part with cymbals from my grandfather's collection, but we decided this cymbal was meant to be shared and heard. We hope this Vintage A will become a treasured part of your musical collection, just as it has become in my family's. Thank you for joining us in celebrating our 400th anniversary."
