Description

Feature-Packed, Highly Playable Pad Controller

The MPD218 is the latest USB-MIDI pad controller, inheriting and evolving the popular series. It features 16 backlit MPC pads and six control knobs, each with three banks, allowing you to control a wide variety of sounds and effects. Compatible with Mac, Windows, and iOS, this compact pad controller is ideal for a variety of uses, including music production, performance, and DJing.

■New MPD Series The new "MPD2" series is the long-awaited second generation of the previous "MPD" series, born approximately six years in the making and incorporating the input of many MPD users. Starting with the pads themselves, the very essence of pad controllers, the MPD218 features new, highly responsive backlit MPC pads and three pad banks. Additionally, it now features six assignable control knobs, not available on previous models. By switching between the three control banks, you can control a total of 48 sounds and 18 MIDI channels.

■iOS compatibility The MPD2 series not only works on both Mac and Windows computers by simply connecting a USB cable, without the need to install any special drivers, but it also now supports iOS devices (requires Apple Camera Connection Kit, sold separately), opening up new possibilities for music production and performance styles.

■Software included: The "MPD2" series includes the classic "Ableton Live Lite" and "AKAI MPC Essentials" so you can start making beats right away, as well as the high-quality percussion sound source SONiVOX "Big Bang Cinematic Percussion" and high-quality drum sound source SONiVOX "Big Bang Universal Drums," each with over 15GB of data. With just these pieces of software, you can create powerful rhythm sounds.
