VAB Series Main Features The newly developed VAB Series offers a lineup ideal for the increasingly popular home recording (DTM) environment. The newly developed cable used in the VAB Series features a four-core structure, which increases the conductive volume and produces a clear, wide-range sound. Furthermore, by shielding the four cores, the cable is more effective at preventing noise interference, resulting in a noiseless cable.

The unique clear sheath, combined with the beautiful finish of the internal shield, creates a luxurious feel. The internal copper shield wire is plated to prevent oxidation, ensuring long-lasting use.

We paid particular attention not only to the wire material but also to the plugs. The XLR plugs are made by the well-established industry standard NEUTRIK, while the TRS phone plugs are originals from Vital Audio.

Internal conductor structure: By arranging the conductors (four cores) in parallel, sound transmission is stabilized and sound quality is improved. In addition, by shielding all four conductors together, we have achieved cost reduction while preventing noise interference.

- Internal insulator with improved heat resistance: The insulator that encases each conductor is made of polyethylene material that has been cross-linked by electron irradiation. This cross-linking process creates a three-dimensional mesh structure in the polyethylene itself, improving properties such as heat resistance and strength. As a result, the problem of the insulator melting during soldering is avoided, and the conductors are well protected.

The highly flexible PVC outer sheath improves flexibility, making the cable easier to handle and more durable. The unique clear exterior also gives it a luxurious feel.

Highly reliable plug
The XLR plugs use the industry-standard NEUTRIK NC3FXX-B and NC3MXX-B. The TRS phone plugs and plug caps are produced from scratch using Vital Audio's original design, and a consistent design is used throughout the lineup. Both are gold-plated for superior sound quality.

The development story of the VAB series: When developing the VAB balanced cable, Hookup, the Vital Audio brand holder, began by focusing on the product lineup it handles. With the widespread popularity of the term DTM and the ease of home recording, people are increasingly pursuing the finer details of their instruments, audio interfaces, and monitor speakers. While Hookup handles many audio interfaces and monitor speakers, we considered the cables that connect them. We began by asking ourselves, "How many users are particular about their cables?" and "What would happen if we actually tried different cables?" We discussed this with factory staff, prototyped several cables and plugs, and conducted numerous tests connecting various devices. The difference was particularly noticeable with the TRS phone jack specifications for the audio interface's line output. The difference in resolution between inserting a standard TS plug into this balanced cable and inserting a matching TRS plug was immediately audible. This led to the development of the VAB series, which strongly recognized the need for a series specifically tailored to DTM in Vital Audio's cable lineup.
