■ No need for a USB adapter anymore
Oyaide Electric's professional-use brand, NEO, is introducing the highly anticipated USB Type-C series in its d+ series. The MacBook Pro, the standard for DJs and DTMs, is equipped with a USB Type-C connector, and the already available Type-C to B and Type-C to C cables are widely used in DJing, live performances, and music production environments, not only in Japan but around the world. While previously requiring a Type-C conversion when using a USB cable, the d+ USB Type-C series eliminates this stress, providing a sleek, high-quality Type-C connection. Following Type-C to B and Type-C to C, the d+ USB Type-C series now includes a new cable that enables Type-A to C connections.
■d+ sound quality remains the same
The Type-C connector is very compact. However, if the cable used is downsized unnecessarily, it will not be satisfactory for professional use. The d+ USB Type-C series secures the largest size within the USB regulations. Despite its slim design, it promises a wide range of sound. The flat cable, connector, and coloring are instantly recognizable as d+, and are a symbol of the quality that continues to define d+.
■World-class quality control
The Type-C connector is compact and highly convenient. Because it's so small and portable, durability is essential. The d+ USB Type-C series is produced under strict quality control, and only those that pass rigorous testing are shipped. In addition to tests under real-world conditions, such as insertion/removal durability, bending durability, and load durability, we also conduct characteristic impedance tests using TDR (time domain reflectometry). We also test the cable's condition and electrical characteristics in high and low temperature environments with an elevation difference of 80°C or more for over 48 hours. In addition, we also test it in an environment with a humidity level of 80% or more and under UV exposure. Only those that pass all these tests are released into the market.
■From DJ, LIVE, DTM, listening to USB microphones, streaming, and car audio
When you think of d+, many people probably think of it as a DJ tool that you see in clubs and festivals.
This may be an inevitable recognition of the d+, a product that elevated cables from mere accessories into the realm of hardware as DJ tools. However, today, d+ products are not only used as DJ tools, but are also installed as standard for connecting professional studio equipment such as DTM. The addition of a Type-C connector means that you can enjoy high-quality sound not only from DJs and music producers, but also from iPad Pros and smartphones with Type-C connectors. As DJing expands into the home living room and music sources shift to PCs, tablets, and smartphones, the d+ USB Type-C has become a valuable addition to your music life.
And with the upcoming release of the Type-A to C cable, the possibilities will be even greater.
