Description
The world's first book dedicated to jazz funk guitar!
This book is a special issue that compiles the March 2017 issue of Guitar Magazine's "Attack on Jazz Funk" and the Guitar Magazine WEB serial "Attack on Jazz Funk Gaiden" into one volume, with additional new articles added.
The album features a total of 11 fun-loving guitarists, ranging from jazz-funk icons such as Grant Green, Melvin Sparks, Boogaloo Joe Jones, and George Benson to more obscure hidden gems like Freddie Robinson and Cal Green.
Each artist's biography, guitars they use, famous albums, playing style, and more are thoroughly explained.
Also included as new content is an interview with Steve Weekley, guitarist of Funk Inc., one of the bands that epitomized 70s funk/rare groove, in which he talks about that time.
In addition, the guitar scores include six new songs, making this a truly must-have book.
