Now celebrating their 30th anniversary since their debut, THE COLLECTORS is a unique band that has garnered great support from young bands while still maintaining their niche and maniacal style.
THE COLLECTORS held a concert at Nippon Budokan on March 1st to celebrate their 30th anniversary since their debut, and to celebrate this, the music magazine Player has published a special edition, "THE COLLECTORS Gear Book."
Leader Hisashi Kato is renowned as one of Japan's leading Teisco collectors, and the band, including members Kotaro Furuichi and Masayuki Yamamori Jeff, are a unique group that favors British manufacturers such as VOX, RICKENBACKER, and MARSHALL.
In addition, the drum set owned by drummer Cozi Takeyuki Furusawa, who joined the group this year, will also be introduced, including a vintage LUDWIG drum set.
This book will cover the current instrument collection of this leading Japanese mod band.
Of course, this is THE COLLECTORS' first gear book, and it also includes plenty of interviews and instrument texts.
This is a valuable book that will be of interest to guitar fans who love rare Japanese-made electric guitars from the early days.
The number of instruments featured is roughly over 120, including guitars, basses, drums, keyboards, and amplifiers.
Through lengthy interviews with the band members and detailed commentary written from a unique perspective, THE COLLECTORS' valuable instrument collection will be revealed.
Among the many musical instrument magazines available, this is one that only Player could produce.
*The book will reuse photos of instruments previously taken for Player magazine, but will also include well over 30 additional photos of instruments.
Like the instrument photos, the member photos are newly taken by photographer Otani Tomoji, as well as the latest live photos by editor-in-chief Kitamura Kazutaka, and are all original Player photos.
