Description

Groove from the bottom of your heart! An expanded edition of this revolutionary training book that will make your guitar thrive is now available.

Groove is the source of exhilaration and comfort in all guitar playing. Gaining knowledge without a fundamental sense of groove will not eliminate awkwardness and stiffness in your playing. No matter how much you hone your technique, without groove, your music will sound mechanical and bland. This book is a compilation of effective rhythm and groove training exercises carefully selected by Tomo Fujita based on his class lessons at Berklee College of Music and private lessons. While each exercise is simple, repeated practice will help you build your groove skills from the very foundation. For guitarists who struggle with playing exactly as written, not sounding great, practicing endlessly but never feeling good, or giving up because they believe they're born with no sense of rhythm, this is a must-have book. This expanded edition of the original 2010 book adds a new chapter (Chapter 3: Video Links) and is now available.

■Chapter 1: If your heart isn't grooving, your playing won't groove.■Chapter 2: Expressing groove through singing.■Chapter 3: Combining quarter notes and eighth notes.■Chapter 4: Feeling the bass line with your body.■Chapter 5: Pursuing shuffle riffs.■Chapter 6: Savoring a variety of harmonies.■Chapter 7: Swing is linked to funk.■Chapter 8: Grooving your guitar solo.■Chapter 9: Adding groove to your everyday life.
