GRETSCH LOVERS
A non-conventional aesthetic? Dedicated to the beloved Gretsch guys
Founded in 1883, Gretsch actually has a longer history than Gibson or Fender.
Gretsch began producing guitars under the brand name around 1933, but in the 1950s they actively incorporated cutting-edge specifications of the time, such as Bigsby arms, humbucker pickups, and octave-adjustable saddles, and the While Falcon in particular reigned as one of the most expensive electric guitars in the world.
Its popularity gradually waned in the 1960s, and production numbers decreased. However, there was no end to guitarists who were attracted to the Gretsch's artistic appearance, including George Harrison, Neil Young, Brian Setzer, and John Frusciante. In Japan, unconventional musicians such as Kenichi Asai and Yusuke Chiba continued to play Gretsch guitars.
This time, through testimonials from guitarists who own Gretsch guitars, an examination of major vintage models, and comparisons of current models, the indescribable charm of Gretsch guitars is thoroughly explored over approximately 100 pages. This feature is dedicated to all Gretsch lovers.
