Momose Original Series MJ
The MJ is an original model that inherits the traditional JB style while incorporating Momose's unique refinements. Each guitar is handcrafted by artisans at the Asuka factory, from woodworking to painting and assembly. Its exquisite craftsmanship results in high playability, which has earned it the support of top players both domestically and internationally, providing unwavering quality that only Japanese-made instruments can offer. The MJ2/R features a combination of an ash body and a rosewood fingerboard.

- Wider horn section for improved playability in higher positions
The MJ model features a deeper cut on the treble-side horn compared to typical JB-type basses. This provides excellent playability, allowing even players with larger hands to easily access the higher frets.

- Recessed joint plate processing: While employing an orthodox plate joint that brings out the ideal sound, the playability is further enhanced by recessing the plate portion.

• Wood binding to prevent fretboard problems: The sides of the fretboard are made of the same material as the fretboard. This not only provides a smooth fretboard surface but also prevents problems such as fret burrs popping out after years of use.

- Original Gravitas pickups
The Gravitas pickups feature readjusted pole piece heights and optimized tone balance for each string. The thick sound from low to mid-range adds even more depth and presence to the tone.

• Equipped with a "Turbo Switch" that produces a powerful, thick tone by pulling up (raising) the Turbo Switch tone pot. Despite being a passive circuit, it expands the range of tones and enhances the player's expressiveness and creativity.

- Luminlay side dots: All models feature Luminlay side position markers, a phosphorescent material that stores light and releases it in the dark. This is highly valued on stages in live music venues and concert halls where low-light lighting effects, such as blackouts, are common, and it is a feature that is popular among professional musicians. It reduces the risk of losing sight of your hands in the dark.

The GOTOH GBU510C-12 tuning pegs are used as the base model's tuning pegs. Their high-precision construction by GOTOH and 20:1 gear ratio ensure stable tuning.

- Features medium jumbo-sized Jescar FW55090NS (※9662NS) frets with a fret height of 1.4mm and a width of 2.28mm.

• Puretone Jack: All models feature the Puretone(R) jack, renowned for its secure jack hold and low noise. Unlike conventional jacks which have one hot terminal and two cold terminals, the Puretone jack has two hot terminals and two cold terminals, securely holding the plug from both sides. This ensures that the plug does not loosen easily even after prolonged use, supporting the player's performance activities with stable performance.

・Centralab Oil Capacitors: Along with the development of the new pickup, we also reviewed the capacitors. From among many candidates, we selected Centralab oil capacitors from the perspective of pickups and other factors. They offer excellent responsiveness to the player's nuances and a bright sound that comes forward, creating a new Momose tone.

• A fingerboard with a 310R radius that is flatter than vintage-style fingerboards, allowing for a wider range of playing styles. This makes it possible to set the string height lower than ever before, making it easier to try technical playing styles that require fast fretting.
