Description

A funk bass that allows the player to freely express the sound they want to convey.

Three Dots Guitars was founded with the concept of providing instruments that are playable and reliable enough for professional use at an affordable price, even if the instrument you pick up in the store is professionally usable. This is the "FB," developed to create a funk bass that combines tone and playability, from the funk music that took the world by storm with the disco ball in the late '70s to modern minimal funk music.

This instrument was designed under the supervision of bassist Tak Saito, who is deeply involved with the workshop, and leading Japanese luthier Yoshiyuki Kikuchi. While featuring a classic, flat-body design, the slightly smaller Dinky shape allows for easy handling. The heel cut at the neck joint also facilitates approaching higher positions, and the body shape is designed for ease of playing without forcing you into an awkward position. Combined with the flat-top body and P-nut-width neck, this guitar not only offers excellent playability, but also delivers a powerful punch and rich tone.

The original pickups, developed specifically for this model, deliver a vintage-like sound reminiscent of the '70s, while maintaining a wide range by lowering output and shifting the peak to the midrange. The pickups are tuned for excellent separation, reproducing every nuance of your picking touch and fingering. The passive construction, designed to accurately express the tonal variances and emotions the player desires, is a testament to the brand's commitment to quality. The default setting is parallel, while the push/pull tone pot allows for series operation, doubling the output and providing a powerful, punchy sound without sacrificing separation. Despite its passive construction, the pickups offer versatile sound control.

Rather than ostentatiously unique specifications, this model demonstrates the brand's consistent commitment to a simple passive style. With a rich sound that sets it apart from typical vintage reissues and incredible value for money, this model is sure to become a major presence as a practical model for players. Experience the world-class quality of this Japanese-made model for yourself.
