Description
The Sadowsky 24-Fret Modern Bass 5-string model is now available in the "Nebula" colorway, with only 50 units produced worldwide, including both 4-string and 5-string models!
Roger Sadowsky's goal was to further improve an already very successful bass design by implementing many detailed improvements. Together with the active circuit he developed himself, he succeeded in taking the J/J bass sound to a new level. All the characteristics of this bass sound - the typical Sadowsky tone with its clear, articulate lows, modern but not overly aggressive midrange, and clear highs - are carried over to the MetroLine series, manufactured exclusively in Germany. This characteristic sound is also inherited in the 24-fret modern bass.
It meets all the requirements for modern bass playing, including a sophisticated deep-cut cutaway for enhanced playability, 24 frets, soapbar pickups positioned in a modern position near the bridge, active electronics with true bypass, vintage tone control, treble and bass boost, ultra-lightweight Sadowsky tuners, and a Sadowsky-specific bridge for quick string release.
After receiving worldwide acclaim for its domestically produced models, the transition to models made at the Warwick factory in Germany became a much talked-about trend. While retaining most of the basic concepts and specifications, Warwick's strength is in the "vast wood stock" - hand-selected materials are used, resulting in a lightweight body of less than 4kg for all models, despite being solid, which is a departure from the original NYC model with its chambered body.
This instrument features a body top crafted from the finest burl poplar, carefully selected from a vast stock of wood, and a lightweight, traditional-sounding alder back. The gorgeous, sleek look reminiscent of the NYC model, complete with all-black hardware, gives it the air of a limited edition. Thanks to the extensive wood stock available, this 5-string bass weighs just 3.79 kg, while boasting astonishing responsiveness, resulting in a sound that's both striking and articulate—a testament to Sadowsky's signature presence.
