The new iD series employs the same discrete Class-A circuitry as Audient's classic pro studio console, the ASP8024 Heritage Edition, delivering high-quality sound that's hard to imagine given its compact size. The iD14mkII has four outputs, allowing you to connect two sets of speakers to compare your mixes, or split the signal from the line outputs to an external headphone amp for use as a monitor mix for the artist.
High Performance Dual headphone outputs (stereo mini-jack and standard jack) are equipped with powerful, discrete, high-current headphone amplifiers capable of driving high-impedance headphones of 600 ohms. This allows you to monitor with high sound quality in any recording without being limited by headphones.
Possibilities for adding channels Expandable with ADAT
The iD14mkII features both ADAT and SPDIF digital inputs, allowing you to add mic preamps to expand your recording sessions to 8 mic channels.
The plug-and-play JFET instrument input is a Class A, discrete design using JFETs. Based on the input section of a classic tube amplifier, this DI input delivers rich, harmonic-rich sound. The DI input is also an independent channel from the microphone preamp input, so you can, for example, sing and play guitar while recording simultaneously.
Ultra-low latency monitor mix
The iD14mkII's Monitor Mix allows for ultra-low latency recording, with an optimal balance between input and computer audio for smooth recording without any noticeable delay.
Talkback function
The iD14mkII's dedicated talkback function allows you to use your computer's built-in microphone or a USB microphone as a talkback microphone, eliminating the need to sacrifice the unit's mic preamps for talkback.
Virtual Scroll Wheel Assign the scroll wheel function to the encoder to access various functions such as DAW automation. (Operation and response speed may vary depending on the software manufacturer's support for the scroll wheel.) It can also be used as an assignable button for functions (talkback, phase inversion, etc.).
