FAQ

Description

A Japan-exclusive model limited to only 91 units! A used D-45, a legendary instrument, has arrived!

Regarding the condition of this instrument, externally, there are dents on the side of the headstock, capo marks on the back of the neck, and repair marks on the waist where the binding has peeled off. The binding material has also had very slight unevenness due to shrinkage.
As this is a used item, it naturally shows signs of wear, but considering that it was manufactured 12 years ago, it is in relatively good condition.

Upon arrival at our store, the product undergoes a complete inspection and nut replacement at our partner workshop.
There are no buzzing or dead spots that would interfere with playing.

The history of the D-45 began in 1933 when country musician Gene Autry requested "the largest and most luxurious Martin guitar," and it was specially made as a custom order.
In 1942, production was temporarily suspended due to the effects of material shortages caused by World War II.

The so-called pre-war D-45, produced over a mere nine years, is considered a sacred gem by modern Martin enthusiasts.
Only 91 of these guitars were ever made. It is said that only about 70 still exist, and their current market value is rumored to be around $675,000 (approximately 100 million Japanese yen).

This instrument, the "D-45 Commemorative," is based on the 1942 model, which can be considered the origin of the D-45.
In line with the original sales figures, only 91 units were released in Japan, but this popular model sold out in no time.

The top is made of Adirondack spruce, and the sides and back are made of Madagascar rosewood.
It retains many of the original specifications, such as the box inlay at the end, scalloped rear shift brace, long saddle, and gloss-finished V-shaped neck.

While maintaining the deep bass and bell-like overtones characteristic of the 45 model, the acoustic properties of the rare materials further enhance its individuality, giving it a presence that sets it apart from other models.
The bracing style, which replicates that of the time, provides a rich response even to light picking.
The lustrous tone that transforms the surrounding atmosphere, and the abundant body resonance that can be felt even in the hands gripping the neck, give the player an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

Unlike the standard D-45 model, this is an exceptional instrument crafted from carefully selected, rare materials, exuding a unique and distinctive character.
If you're a Martin fan, this is a guitar you should definitely check out at least once.
