Description
Description
Although the serial number indicates it was manufactured in 2017, it features transitional specifications from before the specification change, such as the bracing, neck shape, and tuning pegs, which are older specifications (from the 2017 model onwards).
The combination of Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood sides and back delivers both rich bass and clear, extended treble. The deep body resonance characteristic of a dreadnought produces a powerful yet well-balanced tone. It maintains a clear tonal contour while achieving tight, controlled bass. Its clear sound is sure to stand out even in a band ensemble.
Regarding its condition, there is a repaired crack on the left end of the body top, a dent on the headstock, and overall signs of use such as scratches commensurate with its age.
Upon arrival at our store, the guitar undergoes a total setup, top crack repair, fret leveling, and nut replacement at our affiliated repair workshop.
While there are some signs of use, the playability is good, and the consumable parts should remain maintenance-free for some time. Additionally, there are signs that the saddle and bridge pins were replaced before the instrument arrived at our store.
The previous owner had added a popular LRBaggs Lyric (condenser microphone type).
It can be used immediately as an electro-acoustic guitar.
The nut width is approximately 42.9mm (1 11/16 inches). It accommodates a wide range of playing styles, from chord strumming to fingerpicking. Furthermore, the inclusion of sealed Rotomatic tuners ensures stable tuning and ease of use.
The exterior boasts a simple and understated design, typical of Style 28. Its restrained appearance possesses a timeless appeal that makes it a piece that can be cherished for years to come, regardless of era or genre.
Now that current models have shifted towards a vintage-oriented design, the older D-28 is being re-evaluated as a traditional model that embodies both practicality and perfection. For those seeking a classic Martin sound that combines power and clarity, this is a guitar you should definitely consider.
