Description

We have a very rare used item in stock, based on the 000-28 and made from the highest grade Bearclaw spruce and quilted mahogany!

The Custom Shop series is made by skilled craftsmen at the Martin factory.
These models are made using carefully selected wood and handcrafted techniques, setting them apart from standard models, and are worthy of being described as ``complete instruments.''

This is an ultra-special model that was custom ordered in 2013 based on the 000-28.

Martin rates the acoustic properties and beauty of the grain of the wood they use on an eight-point scale, and this custom product uses the highest grade wood material, surprisingly awarded the highest rating of eight.
The top is made of bearclaw Sitka spruce, named for its grain resembling bear scratches, while the back and sides are made of quilted mahogany, with a beautiful grain that, depending on the angle, resembles rippling silk or scales sparkling in water.

The decorative parts include tortoiseshell binding, black and white cells, a black pickguard, and the side and back materials give the impression at first glance that it is an 18th style, but there are also traces of the 28th style in various places, such as the fingerboard inlays and back center.
Each part has been customised with decorations, but the most striking feature is the head.
Normally, the veneer on the top of the headstock has a decal of the manufacturer's logo, but this is a custom back stamp that was used in the pre-war era.
Even without the manufacturer's logo, you can tell at a glance that it's a Martin guitar, perhaps due to the dignity that comes from its accumulated history.

This is the first time I've experienced this sound with this guitar. It has a solid feel like rosewood, and the sparkling overtones give it the gorgeousness of mahogany.
The bracing pattern is scalloped X, but the sound is impressive with a sense of center of gravity and sound pressure, giving it a dignified sound.
Neither too powerful nor too delicate...the tone of this mahogany-bodied guitar makes it easy to see why it was given the name 28.
The top has a beautiful amber color that has been burned over time, and the moisture has been removed, giving the instrument a great sound.
The versatile triple-O shape makes it ideal for both strokes and fingerpicking.

Regarding the condition, when the item arrived at our store, we noticed that the cell in the back was loose, so we had it glued and polished at our affiliated workshop.
It has been 12 years since it was manufactured, so there are some signs of wear, but there are no major scratches or dents, and it is clear that it has been played carefully.
The frets are slightly worn, but not too much considering the age. The nut grooves are also worn, but there is still room for improvement and there is no noticeable chatter.
There is no twisting of the neck, no floating of the top, and no high rise, so the instrument is in very good condition.

"Normal Triple O just isn't enough!" If that sounds like you, then we highly recommend this extremely rare custom item.
This beautiful, one-of-a-kind instrument will satisfy your desire to own it, both when you're playing it and when you're not!
