Description
Description
Designed for players who love pushing the classic 60s British amp sound to its limits, the AC MASTER not only instantly recreates the iconic tones of guitarists like Brian May and Rory Gallagher, but also accommodates a wide range of modern drive and boost applications.
The two sections, used individually or layered, deliver a wide range of sounds, from shimmering, on-the-spot breakup tones to sweet, melodic overdrive and aggressive classic rock saturation.
■ Flexible routing
Both sections of the AC MASTER feature dedicated input and output jacks, forming an FX loop that allows you to insert other pedals between the two circuits, maximizing the flexibility of your pedalboard.
Players can create a highly customizable signal path by placing effects (FX LOOP) such as delay, modulation, fuzz, or additional overdrive between the two sections.
■VOX (AC) Section
The AC MASTER's VOX (AC) section is a VOX-inspired overdrive based on the legendary 1960s AC30 3-channel top-boost amplifier (normal top-boost tremolo).
Just like when the original amplifiers were jumpered, the AC MASTER allows you to blend the normal channel and top boost channel, recreating the complex harmonic characteristics that made these amplifiers famous and that have been used in countless recordings.
• Excellent response to drive pedals
The AC section is designed to work exceptionally well with overdrive and boost pedals.
Thanks to its circuit design, even when receiving boosted or overdriven signals, the sound does not become distorted or muddy, and it maintains clarity and rich harmonics even when pushed by other gain stages.
When driven by an external pedal, this circuit produces dynamic compression, enhanced sustain, and complex harmonic saturation, faithfully recreating the behavior of a vintage British amplifier driven at full volume.
■Range Master (MASTER) Section
The Range Master (MASTER) section is a booster inspired by the legendary one-knob treble booster "Range Master," one of the most important circuits in the history of British guitar tone.
While retaining the original design, we've added two controls: a volume control and a 3-way frequency rotary switch. This allows for precise tone shaping and optimal matching between the two circuits and with other effects pedals.
The frequency rotary switch adjusts the input filtering of the circuit, providing three tonal characteristics:
• Normal (left position): Classic Rangemaster-style boost • Mid (center position): Mid-range emphasized boost, ideal for solos • Bass (right position): Rich response for a thicker drive tone
While vintage models used germanium transistors, the AC MASTER employs carefully selected silicon transistors that reproduce the dynamic response and musical character of germanium while providing greater stability, reliability, and consistency.
■Combination Operation Both sections can be used individually or stacked, providing a wide range of tonal variations. • Transparent boost • Classic treble booster tone • Breakout-on British drive • Thick vintage overdrive • Saturated classic rock distortion When used together, the MASTER booster guides the AC section into rich harmonic saturation, creating a powerful British tone that symbolizes an era of guitar sound.
