FAQ

Description

Since its release in 1954, the Fender Stratocaster has been beloved by guitarists worldwide. This time, we have a rare 1966 Stratocaster with a large headstock and lacquer finish, dressed in a custom candy apple red finish. It's in player-reviewed condition, having been modified in the past.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.4 kg. The body is made of alder with a beautiful warm candy apple red color accented by a gold inner. The pickup cavity under the pickguard has been widened into a square, suggesting that the pickup configuration has been modified in the past (presumably to accommodate two humbuckers). Additional neck joint screw holes have been added, suggesting that the guitar was previously fitted with a different neck. While there is some paint chipping on the body side, paint chipping from a belt buckle, dents, and dullness on the metal parts, the paint itself retains its luster, and the guitar is in relatively good condition, while retaining the distinctive vintage feel. The switch knob and pickguard have been replaced, and the original pickguard is included, although it is cracked.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. The large lacquer-finished headstock still bears the gold Transition logo. There's weather checking on the front and back of the headstock, consistent with its age. The back of the neck has some scratches, slight gouges in the wood, and paint chipping, mainly around the 1st and 2nd frets, but like the body, it's in good condition. The tuners are original Kluson Deluxe, and although the windings vary in tightness, they function well. The frets and nut have been replaced, showing little wear and ensuring good playability. The headstock is 16.7mm thick and the nut width is 40.5mm. The neck has a relatively clean shape.

[Electrical system]
The controls are classic Stratocaster-style: pickup selector switch, master volume, neck (front) position tone, and center position tone. The selector switch has been replaced with an easy-to-use 5-way. The pickups are gray bobbins with 1966 dating, and all the control parts, except for the switch, are in original condition. Based on the excellent speed expected of early large-head pickups, the wide recess adds a unique hollow feel, resulting in a wide range and well-balanced tone. It's easy to use.
