John Suhr has been building his own customized Classic S guitars for Scott Henderson since 1991.
When John started Suhr Guitars 20 years ago, Scott was his first endorser.
After many years and many updates, the current spec guitar that John and Scott have achieved is now available to everyone.

NECK & HEAD
The SCOTT HENDERSON SIGNATURE CLASSIC features a roasted maple neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard. The neck is finished with a satin acrylic urethane finish, which gives it the smooth feel of natural wood and protects it from the effects of humidity.

・NECK PROFILE
D SHAPE NECK (.800″ -.880″)
Scott wants a neck that can accommodate both chords and solo lines. His preferred neck profile is a D-shaped neck with a 16-inch fingerboard radius.

・FRETS
JUMBO NICKEL (.057″ x .110″)
Scott's fret choice is Jumbo Nickel. These tall, wide frets allow for easy bending and smooth fingering. All Suhr guitars undergo PLEK Fret Dress* to ensure the best string action, playability, and intonation.

・SIGNATURE HEADSTOCK
All SCOTT HENDERSON SIGNATURE CLASSIC guitars feature Scott Henderson's signature laser engraved on the back of the headstock.

■CLASSIC BODY SHAPE
It has a bolt-on joint, vintage-shaped body, and a contoured heel for easy access to all frets.

・Lightweight Elder Body
Body weight is very important to Scott, and alder of a similar weight is carefully selected to closely match the weight of Scott's own instrument.

・BODY FINISH
Our painting process offers an unparalleled combination of protection, beauty, and tone. Great care is taken to maintain the thinnest possible paint layer, preserving the resonance of the wood while still providing adequate protection.

・CONTOURED HEEL
The unique contoured heel allows for easy access to the upper registers. For optimal tone and stability, the neck joint must be neither too tight nor too loose, which is why every neck pocket is expertly handcrafted for a precise fit.

HARDWARE & ELECTRONICS
A modified Fender® bridge and unique electronics are the backbone of the SCOTT HENDERSON SIGNATURE CLASSIC. Superior tuning stability, vintage tone, and incredible tremolo range create the ultimate blend of vintage sound and modern sophistication.

Modified Fender® Bridge
The tremolo arm is made of a thicker, shorter steel, and the mounting holes are carefully drilled with the utmost care, as well as tightening the six tremolo mounting screws to give the bridge exceptional tuning stability.

・CUSTOM STEEL BLOCK
Regarding the steel blocks, Scott said:
"We thoroughly remove all the paint from the steel block to really bring out the sound of the guitar. Vintage guitar blocks don't have paint on them."

Increased Tremolo Range
The bridge is set up at a slant to the body to allow the third string to be pulled up by a major third (two notes). The wood of the tremolo cavity where the block contacts has been carefully excavated to increase the arm-down distance of the bar.

・ML STANDARD PICKUPS
ML Standard Pickups feature extra coils for more output and sustain, and uniquely modified staggered pole pieces for a more uniform magnetic field. For tonal consistency, the Scott Henderson model features three ML Standard pickups set up for equal output, regardless of which pickup you switch to.

・SSCII Equipped
SSCII (Silent Single Coil) is Suhr's noise-cancelling system. SSCII sits inside the guitar body and works with traditional single-coil pickups. It reduces 60Hz hum, eliminating tone and eliminating the need for batteries—simply reducing noise.
